Empower local communities of Madirovalo to sustainably managed the natural resources of the wetlands. The project will involve local communities in the monitoring of biodiversity (water birds, turtles, fish), raise awareness on the ecological and economic importance of the natural resources, and work closely with communities to develop alternative livelihood activities, improving including fishing practices and developing small ecotourism activities. The project aims at developing at least two agreements for transfer of natural resources management, to serve as a model in the region for inland fisheries management.
