Placostylus land snails are found only in the western Pacific. Their declining habitat and poor dispersal ability have resulted in several members of the genus being recorded as threatened or extinct. Fiji has 14 endemic species of Placostylus, eight of which are recorded from a single small island. This study will investigate these endemic species ecologically and genetically to assist in their conservation.
