Strengthen existing LMMAs (Locally Managed Marine Areas) within the MPA (Marine Protected Area) by gazetting the sites and obtain formal status and building local community capacity to manage the LMMAs; extend community involvement and buy-in the LMMA approach; and establish alternative activities to fishing.

Strategic Direction: 1 Empower local communities to protect and manage biodiversity in priority key biodiversity areas.
