Develop a pilot site for a payment for ecosystem services scheme to encourage small groups of self-governing farmers to plant trees and show environmental leadership. Restore degraded land and reduce pressure on the natural forests of the Fandriana-Marolambo Forest Corridor, while testing this innovative and proven sustainable development model in Madagascar. Community quantifiers will be paid to monitor the trees planted and the new sustainable agricultural practices that promote biodiversity.

Strategic Direction: 1 Empower communities and civil society to implement actions to improve the resilience of species, ecosystems, and human populations to climate change in priority KBAs
