Equip biology students with skills on the conservation of tortoises and freshwater turtles (TFT), focusing on less-researched species, such as Swinhoe’s Softshell Turtle (Rafetus swinhoei), Bourret’s Box Turtle (Cuora bourreti) and Asian Giant Softshell Turtle (Pelochelys cantorii). Students will design and implement conservation projects, including field surveys for data collection, to achieve the long-term goal of strengthening local capacity to protect native TFT species.

Strategic Direction: 8 Strengthen the capacity of civil society to work on biodiversity, communities and livelihoods at regional, national, local and grassroots levels
