Villagers of Guruapin village, in Kayoa island used to utilize mangrove for firewood and coral for foundation of houses. This over exploitation is the major threat for biodiversity and ecosystem in that Guruapin coastal area. CEPF support eLSiL Kie Raha, CSO from Ternate to enhance aware of villagers on the importance of biodiversity of coastal area by awarness for students, villagers, drafting local regulation for sustainable management and assesment of alternative livelihood.

Strategic Direction: 4 Strengthen community-based action to protect marine species and sites
