Conduct surveys in the highlands of Vitilevu, Fiji's largest island, and train members of the Nadala-Nasoqo community in bird observation so that future monitoring of the red-throated lorikeet can be done by community members. The red-throated lorikeet is a very small member of the parrot family for which there has been no confirmed sighting since 1993.

Strategic Direction: 3 Build awareness and participation of local leaders and community members in the implementation of protection and recovery plans for threatened species
